Used Vs Certified Pre-Owned
Buying a car doesn't have to break the bank. Dealerships like Reichard Chevrolet have plenty of great and affordable used options. But if you're going to shop for a used car, you'll probably come to wonder what the difference is between used and CPO vehicles. Let us give you the basics so you can decide which option is right for you.
Certified Pre-Owned (CPO)
In short, certified pre-owned vehicles are gently used cars that have passed a set of standards and inspections set forth by the manufacturer. These standards usually deal with the vehicle's age, mileage, and history. CPO vehicles are priced in between new and used, because while they are used themselves, they have been certified and approved by the manufacturer. To many buyers, this peace of mind is worth the extra money.
Used
Used vehicles are just what they sound like—used. These cars have not been certified or tested in anyway by the manufacturer. However, that doesn't mean that they still aren't safe, efficient, and comfortable. Buyers can obtain a vehicle history report themselves simply by using the car's vehicle identification number. If a buyer does their research on what to look for in a good used car, they might attain the same peace of mind as with a CPO vehicle, but for a lower price.
